MIDNIGHT RUN

We took Brittany up to her mom's last weekend to spend 6 weeks of the summer. After only one week things went horribly, horribly wrong... as usual.

So we jumped in the car on Saturday night, after I got off work at about 10, and drove up to rescue our little girl. We had to stop and sleep for a few hours, but other than that we just drove. 12 hours... 800 miles... yuck. Luckily we got Brittany without any additional drama so we are happy to be home... safe and sound.
(the pictures are from the trip up last weekend)

My little GRADUATE

FIRST GRADE HERE WE COME!!

This is an occasion of joy and pain for me. I cannot believe my little boy is going to be in first grade. It makes me look back and wonder where all the time went. and at the same time I am so proud of Drayden. He is such a good boy. I can't believe I cried at kindergarten graduation, but I am seriously so sad that my baby has to grow up... I wish I could just cuddle him close forever. I worry about all of the terrible things that this world has to offer, and how many great kids have gotten mixed up in it all. I pray every second of every day that my kids will be smart and do good things.

Drayden had an AMAZING teacher this year!! He had such a fun time and of course made lots of new friends. He never got in trouble... not one single time!!

Drayden is such a stud. He is handsome, smart, and he has a way with the ladies... He already has a girlfriend. lol kindergarten romance it is seriously a good time. I am sure he will be just fine. Now I just need to get myself together!

my crazy dog!!

This is MOJO. He is the cutest little weiner dog you have ever seen. We got him when he was just a baby, and he is almost 1 year old. A few months ago he scared the crap out of us. He ate a marble, and it got stuck in his intestines. He pooped it out eventually and pulled through. Last week he scared the crap out of us again!! I went to the school to pick up the kids, and I decided that MoJo could go with me. My A.C. died recently in my car so we had the windows down... As we drove past the school he saw the kids playing on the playground. Well apparently it was irresistable. I looked over to see his little brown body disappear out the window. Luckily we were only going 25. He hit the ground running, it didn't even phase him!! What a crazy dog. I love him so much though, I hope he quits being crazy soon. I can't wait until he is a little older and quits eating all of my shoes too. Crazy MoJo!!

I am woman... Hear me roar

I have always HATED the 12 foot tall 8 feet wide mess of bushes in my front yard. Mitch refuses to let me cut them down because he loves the privacy. I am tempted to call national geographic because I know there are things living in there that have never seen the light of day. Last week I got the spring cleaning bug in my butt and decided that it was time. Sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission. So I dug around in Mitch's garage and found the SAWSALL (I am famous with this tool... more stories to come I am sure)

4 hours of cutting later and voila... 30 years of god's hard work destroyed... or as I like to thing of it... ENHANCED. ( I am all about the child labor by the way... it builds character right??)

I compromised... I cut the bushes into trees. Mitch says they look like bonsai trees... all twisty. They are starting to grow on me. I will probably end up cutting them all the way down and starting with a blank canvas, but that will have to wait for another day... I should have taken pictures of the bonfire, it was SAWWEEEETTT! not that I am a pyro or anything ;) Well I hope to post more soon, busy busy busy.
