Meet Drayden.
The most emotional little boy you will ever come across. He is tender hearted. He is mostly kind and loving. He is not rough and tumble like most little boys. He doesn't hate getting dirty, but he would rather stay out of the mud, "thank you very much". He tries really hard to like snakes and lizards (cause his dad does) but really he is petrified of most of them. He is a comedian. Seriously you must have a conversation with this boy, he will crack you up! He is so witty! He is very smart. He is very popular, especially with the ladies. He loves Star wars with all his little heart.
But... he is an emotional mess. Every day I drop him off at school and he cries. Whenever I go to help in his classroom he cries when I leave. If something happens, like spilling strawberry milk all over his head, (which I still can't figure out how he did "accidentally"). Everyone else starts giggling and I go get a cloth, and the camera ;) to help him clean up, and he starts sobbing uncontrollably. He cries over EVERYTHING! and I don't mean he throws a tantrum, it is that "break your heart", "my dog just died" kind of crying. I am not quite sure what to do. I love that he is sweet, but I wonder if I am enabling him too much. He still has his teddy bear from when he was a baby, and he won't let the thing out of his sight. He is 6 years old. Is that healthy? I don't have the heart to take it away, it is his best friend. There isn't much left of it, but he loves it just the same. I know that every child is different and maybe it is just his personality, but I can't help but wonder if there is something I am doing wrong. What is your advice? Try to push my baby boy into becoming a little more grown up? (HOW??) or just let nature take it's course and have a star wars junkie living in my basement with his teddy bear twenty years from now
