one butt jiggle at a time...

So, I am really proud of myself because *drumroll please* my legs have definition!!! that is right people! there are muscles hiding under all that gorgeous flab! I seriously couldn't be more excited. If you would have told me 6 months ago I could get muscular legs just by jumping around and shaking my butt, I would have laughed right in your face! Me... with muscles! hahahah! That is like saying my kids are going to stop spilling their milk all over the dinner table, or that my husband is going to do the dishes, or that Santa Clause really does exsist! lol! yeah maybe when "HELL FREEZES OVER".... well people, bust out your winter coats, cause I am flexing just for you! lol... seriously though, go jiggle your butt around, it is fun, and people can have something to laugh at... =) Its o.k. let 'em laugh, someday I am going to have rock hard abs to go with my rock hard thighs, then what, huh!

hey buddy~

I decided to do a little experiment. I scrolled to my "HIT COUNTER" and wrote down the number... then I wrote a new post... then 3 days later I scrolled back down to my "HIT COUNTER" and I was absolutely shocked!! I had over 80 hits in 3 days... that is alot to little old me. I am happy that at least 80 people love me enough to click on my link, or even just stagger on through by accident =). Don't worry... I won't let the power go to my head. *shoulders raised, wringing hands... mooowaaahhhaaa!* I do love you all though... it puts a smile on my face when I come home and see a new comment. You know you want to make me smile.... so leave a comment, and if I don't know you, leave your blog link, so we can be buds. one can never have enough friends.

silly...

(= SiLlY sTriNg =)

My kids managed to mess up my already messy yard, and I couldn't be happier. BECAUSE...Ten years from now I hope I am sitting around chatting with my kids and saying something like... "hey remember when we had silly string wars, and you got it in my hair, OH! and then you got it all over the camera! hahaha, Oh my gosh Chantel look at your face in that picture, that is hilarious... AND Brittany, it looks like a giant bug ran into your shirt and whent SPLAT! And Drayden, you were so brave, I mean look at all that silly string coming right at ya, and you just stand there and take it like a man!" yeah those are going to be good times. =)

On this day in 1951 Seedless watermelon was developed.

On this day in 1959 the first manmade object reached the moon.

On this day in 1966 minimum wage was raised to $1.40.

but most importantly:

On this day in 2003, I married my best friend.

note to self~

Never buy a toy with the words "OVER 500 PIECES!!" printed on the box.

It is a "marble mania GENIUS." I was thinking, wow, that is freaking cool! I am sure that Mitch would love to help me put that together, and I know the kids would have a blast playing with it...

Mitch played games on my i-touch while I coordinated the building of this monstrosity (husbands can be so helpful sometimes). It is probably better that he didn't help because there was one little gear that wasn't turning right, and he came to help me, and we got in a sreaming match over the dumb thing. (sometimes husbands just don't listen! I mean seriously who has been reading the 500 page manual? not him, nooooo, he can figure it out on his own...) I have to admit though, it was probably worth it. This is one of the coolest toys ever.

reason?

It is my firm belief that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Although the events of September 11, 2001 were horrible, and I still can't quite wrap my head around all of the pain and loss that happened on that day, I believe that I personally learned alot.
* Nomatter how safe you feel, there are those, that if they choose, can still hurt you.
* Anyone can be a hero.
* life can change in a matter of moments, so don't waste any.
* nomatter how tragic or life altering the event... life goes on.
* there are some things that we are not meant to understand. We have to rely on God, and trust that he knows what he is doing.
* Hate can be a dangerous thing.
I believe that the events of September 11th were caused by hate. I also believe that people all over America are creating that same kind of hate when they teach their children that Arabs are bad people, or that Muslims are all terrorists, or that Mexicans are all horrible. I believe that people of every race and religion have both good and bad, Americans included. So stop the hate. Judge each person as an individual. The very purpose of a terrorist is to strike terror into our hearts, if you live in fear, they have won. LOVE ONE ANOTHER, it is the only way we can truely win.

black bean salsa

I haven't made this recipe in a while and boy oh boy did I forget how yummy it is. My kids gobbled it down so fast, I had to make a second batch!

in a large bowl combine:

1 Can Black Beans (drained and rinsed)
1 Can Corn (drained)
2 Large tomatoes (Chopped)
1 red onion (minced)
1 Avacado (diced)

In a seperate (small) bowl combine:
4 TBSP Lime Juice
2 TBSP Oil (whatever kind you like)
1 Avacado (puree)
1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
1 tsp Pepper (or to taste)
2 tsp sugar
blend together well and add to the large bowl, mix well. refrigerate for about an hour to let all the flavors blend, then enjoy!

We love this salsa with Fritos Scoops corn chips. It is also YUMMY with quesadillas (sorry I can't spell)

I hope you like it!

I need your advice...

Meet Drayden.
The most emotional little boy you will ever come across. He is tender hearted. He is mostly kind and loving. He is not rough and tumble like most little boys. He doesn't hate getting dirty, but he would rather stay out of the mud, "thank you very much". He tries really hard to like snakes and lizards (cause his dad does) but really he is petrified of most of them. He is a comedian. Seriously you must have a conversation with this boy, he will crack you up! He is so witty! He is very smart. He is very popular, especially with the ladies. He loves Star wars with all his little heart.

But... he is an emotional mess. Every day I drop him off at school and he cries. Whenever I go to help in his classroom he cries when I leave. If something happens, like spilling strawberry milk all over his head, (which I still can't figure out how he did "accidentally"). Everyone else starts giggling and I go get a cloth, and the camera ;) to help him clean up, and he starts sobbing uncontrollably. He cries over EVERYTHING! and I don't mean he throws a tantrum, it is that "break your heart", "my dog just died" kind of crying. I am not quite sure what to do. I love that he is sweet, but I wonder if I am enabling him too much. He still has his teddy bear from when he was a baby, and he won't let the thing out of his sight. He is 6 years old. Is that healthy? I don't have the heart to take it away, it is his best friend. There isn't much left of it, but he loves it just the same. I know that every child is different and maybe it is just his personality, but I can't help but wonder if there is something I am doing wrong. What is your advice? Try to push my baby boy into becoming a little more grown up? (HOW??) or just let nature take it's course and have a star wars junkie living in my basement with his teddy bear twenty years from now
?

Bad Reaction

Standing at the door, hands full of groceries... it is raining... *KNOCK* *KNOCK* no answer..
*BANG* *BANG* no answer... *DING* *DONG*... no answer... me getting very frustrated... did I mention that it is raining? finally after repeating the above several times Brittany (who is not feeling well) dragged her butt out of bed to open the door for me. I should have just sat down the groceries and opened the door, but I just assumed that at least one of my little ones would come running to open the door for mommy.... but......

They were all out cold. It was so cute. I felt really bad for getting frustrated... lesson learned... it is always bad to assume, and I should not let the little things get to me. I love my family.
