Ever had one of those days??

It seems like no matter how hard we try some days are just better than others. I try to hold my head up and be a big girl, but some times I just wanna lay down, kick my feet, and cry really loud. I feel like a crazy person because I can't remember a dang thing, even the important stuff just seems to slip in one ear and right out the other. I am just going to keep on breathing in and out and pray that tomorrow will bring a better day.

I am such a lucky girl, I don't really have anything to complain about, but some days it just feels like I am being crushed by the weight of my tiny little world. So many responsibilities... pay the insurance, brush and floss everyone's teeth twice a day, feed them, clean their faces, don't forget to wash behind the ears!! Oh the joys of motherhood, I am sure I wouldn't trade it for the world, I just don't wanna screw it up.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder.
My house is a mess, my laundry is not folded, but my kids are happy and loved, and I suppose that is a tiny speck of perfection in the midst of all my shortcomings.

crazy, shmazy

just a super cute picture of my little ones.

Chantel and her friends at her birthday party at the Bear Mill. It was so cute, they got to pick a stuffed animal and "bring it to life" They all had a great time. Chantel hauls the thing all over the place now.

Drayden at his Birthday party at Sand Hollow. I am going to go ahead and put a plug in for them. It was an amazing party. 12 kids it included swimming, pizza, drinks, goodie bags, balloons and the party area for $60 dollars. I was SUPER impressed.

easter egg hunting... so much fun. We have been egg hunting almost every day since.

I got no pictures of Brittany's party because I was too busy trying to keep a handle on 20 teenagers. it was lots of fun though. we went and played night games.. super fun!

Chantel turns 4

Drayden was definently the "whoops" baby. Chantel on the other hand was a pain in the butt from the very beginning. I had some crazy reactions to the birth control I used after I had Drayden. It basically stopped my cycles... YIKES. It took us over a year of trying to get pregnant with Chantel (believe me Mitch LOVED this problem ;) Anyway we decided that since it was our last child and we already had all the basics, we were going to wait until the baby was born to find out the sex. It drove everyone crazy, except me.

O.k. fast forward to delivery day... THIS ONE IS SOOOO WORTH READING!!

O.k. so this is the second go round and I am an EXPERT right?? WRONG!! the pains started at about 6:00 a.m. They were regulating, and escalating quickly so we left the house around 8:00 a.m. and headed for the hospital. The back labor was TERRIBLE again, but I was being tough and I was not screaming or anything. When we got to the hospital they got us a room right away, and the epidural guy got there as soon as I had my gown on. YIPPEE no pain for me thanks. Anyway the labor with Drayden was sooooo long that I figured we had all day. So I made myself comfortable and started playing some Tetris on my phone. The nurses came in to ask me how I was doing at about 10:30 a.m. I told them I was o.k., but I could feel some pain so they showed me the "magic button" it is like a little clicker that you can push to release more medicine into the epidural. I thought it was a bit strange that my epidural was wearing off after only two hours, but what do I know right?? At about 11:00 a.m. my doctor finally meanders on in. He asked me when the was the last time they checked my progress. I told him at 8: 30 or so. He decided it was time to check on things again, so he grabs his glove and I spread 'em.

I wish I would have had a video camera. The look on his face was PRICELESS!! He takes one look down there and starts FREAKING OUT!! He is pushing buttons SCREAMING for the nurses to get their butts in there, he throws the table thing down and grabs his little face mask thingy. All the while I am looking back an forth from Mitch to the Doctor going WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???? The doctor finally stops panicking just long enough to look at me and yell "DON'T MOVE, DON'T BREATH, AND FOR HELL SAKE DON'T PUSH" all of the sudden I am surrounded by nurses and all sorts of other hospital staff. The doctor says, o.k. GIVE ME A PUSH. and voila. She arrived. I kid you not, I was still holding my tetris game. it was that fast. poor Mitch, he looked at her from his chair and started celebrating thinking she was a boy... NOPE sorry dad, that is the ombilical cord! lol A few minutes after she was born and they had wisked her away to get all cleaned up and beautiful, I was talking with the doctor. He told me her head was almost all the way out when he first looked, HOLY SHIT!! my baby almost fell right out on the floor! No wonder I was feeling a little pain!! too bad I gave myself a big dose of epidural juice and numbed it all up!! I have to say, after the initial shock was over, it was pretty dang funny. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHANTEL!!

Baby Boy

There is something very special about the first child you give birth to... It is something you can't really explain. I remember being so excited to have the baby... until the labor actually started. I went into labor on April 15th at about 10:00 p.m, While my husband slept soundly, I paced and took a bath, and paced, and cried, and tried bending over, and paced some more. Finally about 6:00 a.m. I had had it, IT's TIME!! So off we went. I was yelling at Mitch because it felt to me like he was hitting all the bumps ;). When we finally got to the hospital I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour, (apparently everyone decided to have their kid on the same day) that and I was only at a 2. Apparently you have to be at least a 3 to admit you. I nearly died when they told me that. Finally the nurses got tired of hearing my whining and moaning every five minutes, so they gave me a room. I had plans to do things all naturally, that was well before the pain actually started. At this point in the game I am screaming at the top of my lungs " DRUGS!! GIVE THEM TO ME NOW!!" I had very intense back labor. So after screaming for about an hour, the epidural guy finally finds his way to my room. The unfortnate thing about my epidural is that it stopped my labor completely. So bring on the Pitosin. At this point I was relaxed and watching the little contraction bumps on the monitor... fast forward to 7:00 p.m. FINALLY!!! it is time to push. I had this idea in my head that Drayden would be really fat (my doctor estimated about 9 pounds the day before he was born... STUPID DOCTORS! freaked me out for nothing!) and that he would have dark hair. Boy was I off. 6 pounds 1 oz, Bright red hair. He was well worth the 22 hours of labor. I can't believe he is turning 6. Before I know it he will be 18 and gone, but I am determined to enjoy ever second. I love you Drayden. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!!

Happy Birthday Brittany

I can't believe my little Britter-Bug is 13. I became her mom when she was 5 years old. It is amazing to watch her blossom into a beautiful young woman. She is one of the most caring and gentle people that I know. I am so proud of her. She has had to go through some tough things in her short life.
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful kid. Even when she acts like a crazy teenager and barks at people as we drive past! Even when she wears clothes that I would never be caught dead in. Even when she tries to text while brushing her teeth and drowns her phone. Even when her room looks more like a warzone than a place someone might sleep. Even when she cries for an hour about doing the dishes. I am still so greatful to my heavenly father for allowing me to be a mom to the most wonderful girl in the whole world.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRITTANY!
(wish me luck, I am now the mother of a teenager)

Birthday Prank

My nephew is turning 18 tomorrow. Mitch and I decided that the only really appropriate thing to do for someone entering adulthood is to send a little reminder that there will always be times that you need to act like a kid.

We had to use our "undercover cop" faces, and well, what is an undercover cop without a gun right?? lol. This was alot of fun. I kept ripping the Toilet Paper, and Mitch kept stubbing his toes on things in the dark!
I think we are a little out of practice!
He will probably be late for school tomorrow, but it's all good.

The finished product. Notice all the broken dangly pieces, that would be me, breaking the roll every single time Mitch passed it over to me! I think we made our point just the same.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY J!

gearing up

April is a crazy month for me. I honestly think that every single day is scheduled to the MAX.
All three of my children have a birthday in April. Which means I get to buy birthday presents, and throw birthday parties. (ya know in my spare time) HA!! It is only day 4 and I already feel like I need to be medicated. Oh and to top it all off this year we have Drayden in Soccer, which happens to be a very time consuming sport. Especially because his coach is a no show, so the other team moms and I get to be COACH as well. I really hope I can keep it together. Oh and did I mention that Brittany is turning 13???? sob ~ sob ~ sob~ Honestly I might explode... but if I make it through, I will probably have some good pictures to show for it =) So wish me luck on my perilous journey...

ready or not April is here.
